NIAA - Have your say – Northern Territory Native Title Representative Bodies.

The Minister for Indigenous Australians, the Hon Linda Burney MP, has invited the Northern Land Council (NLC) and Central Land Council (CLC) to apply for further terms as the Native Title Representative Bodies (NTRB) for their respective Northern Territory regions.

NTRBs help people to make Native Title claims and agreements. The NLC and CLC are currently the NTRBs for the Northern Territory regions and their current terms expire on 30 June 2024.

People with Native Title interests in the region, and all Aboriginal people living in the region, can make a submission on the NLC or CLC to inform the Minister’s decision. Submissions are due by 5:00 PM (AEST), 16 April 2023.
