Quandamooka Rangers

The Quandamooka Rangers care for traditional country located on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) in Moreton Bay, Queensland.

The ranger’s undertake natural and cultural resource management activities on Traditional Owner native title lands and seas, in partnership with Quandamooka people, management partners and other stakeholders. The rangers also undertake formal nationally accredited and informal training opportunities in land and sea management to strengthen their professional capacity.

Activities of the Quandamooka Rangers include weed, feral animal and fire management; biodiversity monitoring; cultural heritage protection and conservation; threatened species management, especially turtle; and on country and school activities focussed on bringing together Elders and youth to facilitate the transmission of knowledge, cultural pride, and land management practices.
