1,000 Jobs Package extended

Employers in remote Australia will have more time to expand their businesses and take on new staff with an extension to the 1,000 Jobs Package.

Tranche Two of the grant opportunity will be open until 30 June 2023 through GrantsConnect.

The 1,000 Jobs Package provides subsidies to employers for up to two years for new positions, as well as retention bonuses to encourage businesses to create longer term employment.

Employers can receive up to $57,020 over two years per eligible participant, to help them hire new staff in ongoing positions.

Positions will be subsidised up to the minimum wage, and can be full-time or part-time.

Eligible employers can also receive an additional $1,000 to support jobs focussed on youth engagement in their community.

Community Development Program (CDP) Participants engaged in Youth Support positions may be eligible for a bonus of up to $2,000 over two years.
