Cape York Land Council consultation open

The Minister for Indigenous Australians, the Hon Ken Wyatt MP, is considering an application from Cape York Land Council for recognition as the native title representative body for the Cape York Region.

Native title representative bodies help people to make native title claims and agreements. The Cape York Land Council currently performs these functions as a native title service provider.

A consultation is now open to people with native title interests in the Cape York region, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the region.

Visit Consultation: Recognition of Cape York Land Council as a Native Title Representative Body for more information and to make a submission.
