Applications for the $5 million Strengthening Remote Communities – Food Security Grant Opportunity have opened. Stores operating in remote Indigenous communities are able to apply for up to $500,000 to address food security risks.

Eligible projects must be one-off and improve the reliable supply of nutritious food, groceries and other critical supplies in remote Indigenous communities. This could include through purchase of additional equipment, repairs, training or minor infrastructure to support better food quality, affordability and/or store operations.

Applications close midday 10 November 2021 (AEDT).

The National Indigenous Australians Agency will continue to work with stores and suppliers to identify issues impacting Indigenous Australians and work towards appropriate and practical solutions.
