Update Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Following advice from the Northern Territory Government’s Chief Health Officer (CHO), the designation of the Alice lockdown area was removed at 1pm on 2 July 2021. While travel restrictions linked to this have also been lifted, a number of precautionary measures remain in place to protect community from Covid-19.

While travel to and from remote communities including Mutitjulu has resumed, anyone wishing to travel to community is advised to check the latest travel advice from the CHO on the Northern Territory Government’s Coronavirus at Coronavirus (NT Government) to ensure they meet the appropriate requirements prior to travelling.

For further information regarding permits to access Aboriginal Land outside of the township of Mutitjulu you are advised to contact the Central Land Council on 1800 003 640 or visit Centrali Land Council. Anyone travelling to Mutitjulu must continue to abide by the directions of the CHO at all times.

Mutitjulu residents who are currently in the designated lockdown area are now able to return home.

If you are feeling unwell, do not travel to remote communities. Protecting our community remains the responsibility of everyone, and we ask that you respect the wishes of our Aboriginal communities during this difficult period.

Travel restrictions for those coming from interstate may still apply, and visitors to Mutitjulu and Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park are advised to check the latest Northern Territory Government advice in relation to this.
