Indigenous Business and Employment Hub - Darwin, NT - Tender now open

Applications are now open for Indigenous-owned organisations with demonstrated experience, expertise and capability to design and deliver a new Business and Employment Hub based in Darwin with satellite offices across the Northern Territory.

The Hub will be a one-stop-shop to provide Indigenous businesses with access to mentoring, advice and support, a place to work and greater connections across industries. It will also provide light touch referral services to support job seekers connect with employment service providers and organisations seeking to employ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This Hub will be the fourth to be delivered under the Indigenous Business Sector Strategy (IBSS), with Hubs already operating in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. These Hubs form a network of support for Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs across Australia, with services delivered to over 500 businesses so far. The Darwin Hub will be a valuable addition, extending the reach of existing hubs to create a nation-wide network.

Indigenous Business and Employment Hubs are a key component of the IBSS, the Government’s 10-year plan to support the growth of the Indigenous business sector. The design of the Hub model as a ‘one stop shop’ was formed through extensive consultation with the sector, which involved over 200 Indigenous businesses and key stakeholders.

The Darwin Hub will be based on this model but, similar to other hubs, will be tailored to meet the needs of the local environment. It will be designed by the Northern Territory business community to suit the Northern Territory business community.
