National Indigenous Australians Agency 2020–21 Annual Report

The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is proud to present our 2020–21 Annual Report – the Agency’s second annual report following its establishment on 1 July 2019.

In the past year, the NIAA have continued to build stronger relationships across governments, stakeholders and communities to deliver results that contribute to improving the lives of Indigenous Australians.

In line with our priorities outlined in the NIAA 2020-21 Corporate Plan released earlier this year, we are committed to delivering on several areas of focus including:

  • furthering the co-design process for an Indigenous Voice
  • implementing the National Agreement on Closing the Gap
  • leading initiatives to improve mental health, youth suicide prevention, community safety, education and employment outcomes
  • creating economic opportunities and providing ongoing support to businesses as part of the broader Commonwealth recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report is also available on the Australian Government’s Transparency Portal – the central repository of publicly available corporate information for all Commonwealth bodies.
