Achievements over the last 12 months: 

  • Agreed to the Terms of Reference and Visions and Values of the Group
  • Agreed to the procurement and design of a logo for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages
  • Developed a national policy priorities paper for languages and released it on the First Languages Australia website
  • Agreed the overarching framework, vision, themes, case studies, and key design elements for the National Action Plan for the International Decade (with this work continuing)
  • Attended the global launch of the International Decade in Paris.

Partnership elements strengthened: 

Clause 32C(vi) meets in 2023. The Terms of Reference outline that jointly agreed community priorities can be conveyed across all Commonwealth departments for consideration in funding and program decisions.
