Remote Employment

The Australian Government is taking a new approach to remote employment by supporting jobs that deliver programs and services that communities want, as part of replacing the Community Development Program (CDP).

A new Remote Jobs and Economic Development Program (RJED) is being developed in partnership with First Nations people and will start in the second half of 2024.

It will fund 3000 jobs over three years, supporting remote communities to determine local projects and job priorities to increase economic opportunities in their area.

You can read more about the development of the RJED program.

Remote employment services are still available through the CDP. Read about the CDP.
