Allied Health Case Conferencing MBS items

Action description: 

Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) items have been created to reimburse allied health professionals for participating in multidisciplinary case conferencing. This action will assist in improved care coordination and deliver better health outcomes to First Nations peoples, who may have multiple care providers and/or complex needs. The new items are for eligible allied health professionals participating in multidisciplinary case conferences for people with chronic disease under the care of a General Practitioner as part of Team Care Arrangements, as well as patients aged under 13 years (under 25 years from 1 March 2024) under the care of a specialist, consultant physician or GP to provide early diagnosis and treatment of autism or any other pervasive developmental disorders.
