Australia has worked to mainstream language on gender equality and Indigenous women's rights issues by regularly proposing amendments to protect and enhance language in resolutions on Indigenous women's rights. This includes our commitments to the UN Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), supporting/engaging with civil society organisations (such as NATSIWA) on the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and providing inputs on intersections between Indigenous peoples and gender issues in the Human Rights Council (HRC).
