Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Childcare Inquiry

Action description:

In October 2022 the Government directed the ACCC to conduct an inquiry into the market for the supply of childcare services. The inquiry commenced on 1 January 2023 and will provide a final report by 31 December 2023. As part of this inquiry the ACCC will engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families on their experiences with the sector. The Direction from Government instructs us to consider the impacts geographical location (including regional and remote areas) and the age and characteristics of the child in care (among other things) have on costs and prices.
