As part of the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government announced $10.5 million in 2023-24 to boost mental health support for First Nations peoples in the lead up to, during and following the referendum to enshrine an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice in the Constitution.

Resourcing: 
In the 2023-24 Budget: $10m to NACCHO in 2023-24 to increase capacity of ACCHOs to provide culturally-appropriate mental health services for First Nations peoples, allowing flexibility to target additional support when and where it is required; and $0.5m in 2023-24 to monitor and report the experiences and mental health and wellbeing needs of First Nations peoples in the lead up to and immediately after the referendum, to help inform targeted responses to combat racism and its impacts, and more effectively direct supports to First Nations peoples.
