Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Developing the cultural competency and trauma responsiveness of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous child and family sector workforce engaged through the Department of Social Services (DSS) grant funding.

Action description: 

The program will work nationally with up to 500 department-funded child and family sector service providers to undertake an assessment of their organisation's policies, practices, service models and staff capabilities with regard to their First Nations cultural awareness and trauma responsiveness. Training and development to address these needs will be delivered to child and family sector service providers until 30 June 2024.
