Early Years Strategy

Action description:

The Australian Government is investing $4.2 million to develop a whole-of-Commonwealth Early Years Strategy (the Strategy) to set out the Government’s vision to best support Australia's children and their families. The Strategy seeks to build a better future for Australian children and families by creating a new, integrated, holistic, whole-of-government approach to the early years. The Strategy will build on and amplify the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Early Childhood Strategy and complement existing Closing the Gap measures, including the establishment of the Early Childhood Care and Development Policy Partnership, which brings together governments and First Nations representatives to develop recommendations to improve early childhood outcomes for First Nations children and families. The Strategy is expected to be released in 2024 and will be operationalised by three Action Plans delivered over the next 10 years.
