Escaping Violence Payment place-based trial

Action description: 

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander place-based trial of the Escaping Violence Payment (the place-based trial) commenced on 27 February 2023 in the Cairns region. It is being delivered by the Remote Area Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Care Advisory Association, an Indigenous-led organisation in the Cairns region. The place-based trial aligns with the national EVP trial, and aims to provide specialised and culturally-appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors of intimate partner violence to establish a home free from violence. The trial which has been extended from 30 June 2024 to 30 June 2026.
