Grant funding to eligible ACCHOs to expand patient access and improve their services across Australia.

Action description: 
  • The Government has invested $220 million under the Strengthening Medicare – General Practice Grants Program to enable General Practices and eligible Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) to expand patient access and improve their services across Australia.
  • The program provides a one-off grant (between $25,000 to $50,000 based on practice size and accreditation status) to each general practice and eligible ACCHO to make investments in innovation, training, equipment, and minor capital works in one or more of the three investment streams below:
    • Enhance digital health capability
    • Upgrade infection prevention and control arrangements
    • Maintain and/or achieve accreditation
  • $3.8 million in grant funding has been paid to 126 ACCHOs across Australia.
