Improving support for people with disability - Increasing the capacity of the supported employment sector to support people with disability with high support needs

Action description: 

The Commonwealth is investing $57 million over four years to:

* create ongoing employment opportunities for people with disability with high support needs;

* assist the supported employment sector to evolve to better meet community expectations; and

* provide people with disability with high support needs, their families and carers with access to advocacy support and information to build their confidence and understanding about rights and options at work.

As part of this work, the department consulted with key stakeholders such as First Peoples Disability Network to ensure the needs of First Nations people were considered in the design of the supported employment 2023-24 Budget initiatives.
