Indigenous Home Ownership Program (IHOP)

Action description:

Delivered through Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), IHOP provides low deposit, low priced home loans for Indigenous Australians who face barriers to accessing mainstream finance. Through IHOP, IBA has assisted over 21,000 Indigenous families into home ownership since the program's inception in 1975. IBA has issued an average of over 500 home loans per year since 2011-12 under IHOP. There is no IHOP grant funding through NIAA. The Government pays a direct annual appropriation to IBA to contribute to IHOP loans.
