Intensive early childhood education and care model trial

Action description:

In 2021, the Commonwealth committed $9.5 million towards an intensive early childhood education and care model trial. Led by the Parkville Institute, this measure is time-limited and will run for three years in each of the four participating services. The trial is a multi-disciplinary model that offers high quality, intensive early education and care, infant mental health and wrap-around family support, in partnership with families and local community organisations and agencies. The model aims to lift school readiness, including cognitive skills, resilience, and socio-emotional development for vulnerable and disadvantaged children, including First Nations children.
