Working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

Leaders in Indigenous Medical Education Network (LIME)

Action description:

The LIME Network enables the continued development and implementation of quality First Nations health curriculum to improve education for all students, builds capacity of those working in First Nations health, and develops pathways to strengthen student recruitment strategies with specialist medical colleges. The key objectives of the LIME Network are to support quality and effective teaching of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in medical education, as well as best practice in the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students. The LIME Network provides a community of practice for members to share ideas and experiences and get support from colleagues, noting some members (given the low representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the medical workforce) may feel isolated within their own institutions.
