National Lung Cancer Screening Program

As announced in the 2023-24 Budget, the Government has committed $263.8 million over four years, ongoing for the establishment of a new National Lung Cancer Screening Program, including $23.1 million to enable partnership with NACCHO and support for ACCHO partnerships and priority population groups.

As an implementation partner NACCHO will lead the co-design of the program to ensure culturally safe and appropriate screening services are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Funding has been included for mobile screening and patient assisted transport services to ensure equitable access, particularly for people in the most vulnerable population groups.
