Action description:

A collaboration working with the Northern Australian Aboriginal Kakadu Plum Alliance (NAAKPA) to provide technical support and guidance as well as chemical and microbiological measurements. NMI has supported NAAKPA in the areas of regulatory compliance for trade, food safety and understanding the nutritional value proposition of their bushfood commodities. Examples include novel bushfoods such as green ants and Terminalia canescens tree tea (Jilungin tea). NMI has provided connections within government and industry, including conference participation, to support NAAKPA's marketing, regulatory needs and provide new business opportunity.
