National Plan to End Violence Against Women 2022-2032 (NIAA) - Healing for families initiative

Action description: 

Healing for Families, will co-design and deliver trauma-aware, culturally based, and community-led healing approaches in up to seven locations and will be aimed at First Nation women, children and families affected by family violence or at risk of engagement with child protection system across seven locations in Australia.

Healing for Families is an action under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan under the National Plan to End Violence Against Women 2022-2032.

An Indigenous-led Expert Group (IEG) has been formed to identify locations, oversight a grants process, and advise on co-design, service delivery, and evaluation. The IEG includes The Healing Foundation, SNAICC – National Voice for Our Children, Gayaa Dhuwi (Proud Spirit) Australia, Western Australia Family Violence Prevention Legal Service and NACCHO.
