Social and Emotional Wellbeing (Mental Health) Policy Partnership

Action description: 

On 26 August 2022, Joint Council approved the establishment arrangements for the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (Mental Health) Policy Partnership under Priority Reform One of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap. The Partnership is co-led by the Department of Health and Aged Care and the Coalition of the Peak Organisations representative, Gayaa Dhuwi (Proud Spirit) Australia. It includes representatives from Commonwealth, state and territory governments, Coalition of the Peaks and other First Nations organisations. Three full meetings of the SEWB Partnership were held through 2023. The 3rd meeting was held in Melbourne on 9 November, and focused on First Nations and Government members' priorities, issues of racism being experienced in the context of the referendum, the SEWB Framework refresh and collaboration across all of the Policy Partnerships.
