Celebrate NAIDOC Week. Always Was, Always Will Be. 8 - 15 Nov 2020

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia annually to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s National NAIDOC week theme is Always Was, Always Will Be and recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years and their spiritual and cultural connection to Country.

In March, this year’s celebrations were moved from July to 8 – 15 November 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This year, the National Indigenous Australians Agency has provided more than 500 grants totalling $1.4 million to local community groups to hold events to celebrate NAIDOC Week.

Many of this year’s events highlight the creativity and resilience of communities by celebrating NAIDOC Week online or in a COVIDSafe way in-person.

Find out how you can join the celebrations on the NAIDOC website.
