This evaluation, initiated by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (PMC) in 2015, aimed to assess the feasibility of implementing rigorous randomised controlled trials to evaluate Indigenous community safety programs and further improve the internal capacity within PMC to undertake randomised evaluations, interpret the results of rigorous studies and develop and implement evidence based policy. The findings of the evaluation were constrained by the availability of suitable randomised controls trials and sufficient data to yield clear results. Given, the issues with the evaluation, and the time that has lapsed since it commenced, it will not proceed to publication.
