Grants for remote First Nations community laundries

Decorative element

Eligible organisations are invited to apply for funding to deliver up to 12 new or upgraded mobile or fixed community laundry facilities in eligible locations across the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia through the Australian Government’s new Remote Community Laundries Project.

Successful providers will partner with communities to ensure laundries address health need outcomes, are fit-for-purpose, and reflect community priorities. Their construction and maintenance will support employment opportunities in local communities, contributing to community wellbeing.

These laundries will include commercial-grade machines with clean hot water and the medicative detergents needed to help reduce irritants and infections that can lead to serious but preventable illnesses like trachoma, acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease.

This initiative contributes to Closing the Gap health outcomes 1 and 2 and economic outcomes 7 and 8.

Eligible organisations are invited to apply at GrantConnect.

Applications are open now and close 2pm AEDST, 13 February 2026.
